I am excited to help you capture beautiful memories this Fall and Christmas season! To ensure your  photo session goes smoothly, I’ve put together some recommendations . 

 

BEFORE YOUR PHOTO SESSION

Choose your Style and Coordinate the Outfits. One of the key steps in preparing for your photo session is choosing the right outfits. The color palette and style of the outfits will determine the mood of the pictures and the way I pose the family members.
 

Think about how would you like the final pictures to look like? Colorful and energizing? Soft and harmonious? How do YOU want to look like? Casual, formal, sporty, elegant?

Choose 2-3 main colors that complement each other and have everyone work within that color palette. The colors don’t have to match, just go well together. Complement those colors with neutral shades like gray, beige or off-white. I recommend to avoid pure black and pure white.

 

For Fall sessions select warm, earthy tones like burgundy, mustard, olive green, rust, and cream. These colors will enhance the Fall look of the photos. If you go with the brown and mustard tones consider combining these colors with blue tones.

Give preference to solid colors and limit patterns, logos and characters. It will make your photos look more polished and timeless.

​

For Christmas sessions consider classic shades like red, green, gold, and off-white. Choose colors and patterns that evoke the spirit of the season.

​Look for inspiration in my picture gallery and  on platforms like Pinterest. Searching for family photo outfits will help you visualize how different colors and styles work together.

Focus on Fit. Ensure that all outfits fit well and are comfortable. Avoid overly tight or very short clothing, as it can be unflattering and make it difficult to move naturally during the session. Especially for families with younger kids, it’s recommended to wear clothing that allows for plenty of movement.

​

 Plan for the Weather. If kids are cold or uncomfortable in their outfits, it may show in their expressions and postures. If the weather is chilly and your planned outfits aren’t warm enough, consider having your kids wear layers underneath their clothing. Plan accessories like scarves or hats.

​

Footwear. Select shoes that complement your outfits and are suitable for the location. I recommend avoiding high heels with thin heels for photo sessions in the park or at a Christmas farm, as they may get stuck in the ground.

​

Have a Dress Rehearsal. Try on outfits a few days before the photo session to allow enough time for any necessary changes.

​

Family Bonding. The day before the session, take time to go through your old family pictures. Talk to your kids about how much it means to you to have these memories and how they will appreciate them when they are older. This will help your kids understand the purpose of the session and encourage cooperation.

​

It can be a hassle to get the whole family dressed for the photo session. Try to keep the environment before the session calm and friendly so that the session becomes quality family time. For parents with little kids, please have some snacks ready. Avoid chocolate or sweets that may color the mouth and teeth.

 

DURING YOUR PHOTO SESSION

Please be on time. I recommend arriving 5-10 minutes early to get familiar with the area. There will be multiple photographers and families taking pictures, so allow yourself time to walk to the meeting spot and locate your photographer.

Mini sessions are scheduled back-to-back, so please be on time and patient if there are slight delays. I always do my best to keep all sessions on schedule.

You will receive detailed instructions about your meeting location prior to your scheduled photo session.

​

During your photo session I will guide you on what to do, where to place your hands, and how to look flattering and natural in the photos. My goal is to capture genuine emotions and natural interactions. Just relax and enjoy the experience!

AFTER YOUR PHOTO SESSION

You will receive access to your gallery within 7 business days. The gallery will include all qualifying shots from the photo session, unedited. You can select your favorite photos based on your package and have the option to purchase additional images or the full gallery if you wish.

​

All photos will be delivered digitally in high resolution, with permission for printing.
